Advocacy Committee
Chair: Christian Pillat
advocacy@uslavender.orgA working committee under the USLGA President, reporting to the President and Executive Director.
- • Unify the Standards of Measurement for consistent communication with members and state/federal agencies.
- • Develop and maintain relationships with state/federal agencies for legislation pertaining to commercial lavender growers.
- • Review pending legislation, recommend USLGA position, and prepare member 'Action Items' communications.
Education & Research Committee
Gathers and maintains statistics and data on domestic and foreign lavender production, researches demand, and develops surveys, certification programs, educational materials, farm studies, and Lavender 101 topics for the website.
Event Committee
Manages and produces the United States Lavender Conference (USLC). The next conference is USLC 2027 (location to be determined).
Finance Committee
Provides oversight of all financial activities within and on behalf of USLGA.
- • Oversees the financial tasks of the Executive Director and aides the Treasurer.
- • Recommends to the Board on major financial undertakings (with Executive Director and/or Treasurer for purchases over $300).
- • Provides guidance and support for fund-raising activities.
- • Reviews any and all contracts entered into on behalf of USLGA.
Membership Committee
Initiates new ideas for member benefits, reviews dues annually, welcomes and orients new members, focuses on retention, and works with PR/Communications and Regional Leaders.
Regional Leaders Sub-Committee
Oversees communication, development, and ongoing educational experiences for members in their geographical USLGA region. Holds quarterly meetings, supports a regional team of 3–5 members, uses regional private Facebook groups, and works with the Education & Research and Technology Committees.
Nominating Committee
Standing committee of at least 3 members from the current or past Board (at least one current or past officer). Seeks board candidates, answers questions about board activities, approves ballot names, and manages the voting process.
Public Relations & Communications Committee
Chair: Tina Schooler
pr@uslavender.orgPromotes USLGA's interests and events to members and the public — newsletter content, social media, mailings, the Wholesale Vendor Directory, public outreach, and official press releases. Newsletter Chair: Regina Hammett (news@uslavender.org).
Sponsorship Committee
Manages sponsorship opportunities for USLGA.
- • Research, review, and recommend sponsorship opportunities to the Board.
- • Solicit sponsorship opportunities in conjunction with the Executive Director.
- • Perform annual reviews of all sponsorship activities for effectiveness, profitability, and member relevance.
Technology Committee
Reviews and establishes policies for digital activities performed by and in the name of the organization. Works with the Executive Director, provides representation to other committees, and monitors content consistency across the website and online documents.
